"We brought 140 marijuana plants to the Madina Police to be used as evidence," Mandailing Natal Police Chief, Police Adjunct Chief Commissioner (AKBP) Arie Sofandi Paloh stated on Tuesday, June 24.
He revealed that the discovery of marijuana fields was based on information from the public, which was then followed up with monitoring by police personnel.
Initially, the marijuana field that was found in the area was only one hectare, but after further investigation, the police found around six hectares.
"After we conducted a direct investigation at the location, the drone camera monitoring revealed the area spanned approximately six hectares," he stated.
Although the owner of the plantation was not found, the police stated that they proceeded to destroy the fields by burning them.
Paloh stated that destroying the illegal plants demonstrated the police's commitment to fighting narcotics.
He expressed gratitude to the public for informing the authorities about the marijuana fields.
Paloh expressed hope for continued support from the government and all community elements in eradicating drugs.
"This fight against drugs is a shared task and responsibility," he affirmed.
