Susanto said that the skill would be useful for supporting the Free Nutritious Meals program, given the large volume of resources needed to run the initiative. Villages are expected to supply the ingredients for the program, such as vegetables, chilis, and eggs, he added.
“When the (program) recipients reach millions, it needs many ingredients,” he pointed out in a statement released here on Wednesday.
The minister highlighted the program’s potential economic impact to encourage village leaders to develop their tech skills. His administration also aims to prepare villages so they can supply food stocks for feeding the 83 million people targeted by the program.
Moreover, the Red and White Village Cooperatives program launched by President Prabowo Subianto is also expected to help eliminate loan sharks, and thereby ensure a better life for rural people.
The minister also pointed to the Jaksa Garda Desa (Prosecutor Protecting Village) initiative, under which the Attorney General’s Office is collaborating with village leaders and the village legislative body (BPD) in Village Fund monitoring, assistance, and management.
The program is expected to allow village leaders to use the funds to push their village’s development even further, without concern.
Meanwhile, Deputy Attorney General on Intelligence, Reda Manthovani, expressed the hope that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) on cropping system for land utilization and the Prosecutor Protecting Village programs would help improve people’s welfare.
“I expect prosecutors to follow through with this collaborative program,” Manthovani added.
