“I want you to become national soldiers and police officers who give their all for the nation, relentlessly fighting for the people and earning their love,” he remarked during the oath-taking ceremony for two thousand graduates of military and police academies on Wednesday.
Speaking in the courtyard of the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta, he reminded the graduates that both the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) and the National Police (Polri) stand at the forefront of safeguarding Indonesia’s freedom and sovereignty.
The president spoke highly of the young officers, calling them the true sons and daughters of Indonesia, prepared to dedicate their lives to the people and the state.
He reminded the young soldiers and police officers that they now carry the heavy responsibility of safeguarding the country’s dignity and the people’s safety.
“The nation’s sovereignty, the nation’s dignity, and the people’s safety are on your shoulders. The people expect your devotion, dedication, and your ultimate sacrifice,” Prabowo told the graduates standing before him.
While expressing pride in the young officers, the head of state warned them not to break their oath as guardians of the nation.
Additionally, he thanked mentors, trainers, and families for their roles in supporting and guiding the youths to complete their studies at their academies.
During the ceremony, Prabowo administered the oath to 1,879 male and 121 female officers. Of these, 827 will serve in the Indonesian Army (TNI-AD), 433 in the Indonesian Navy (TNI-AL), 293 in the Indonesian Air Force (TNI-AU), and 447 in the Polri.
He also awarded the Adhi Makayasa insignia of honor to two top graduates from each institution.
