Penajam Paser Utara (ANTARA) - The Central General Hospital (RSUP) in the Central Government Core Area (KIPP) of Nusantara city (IKN) in North Penajam Paser district will soon start serving people living in KIPP and within the capital city limits.

“RSUP IKN at KIPP will soon be operated,” head of medical services at RSUP IKN, Tirta Asprimi Angraeni, said when asked about the readiness of the hospital in North Penajam Paser on Friday.

“RSUP IKN will not only serve residents of KIPP, but also the community in Sepaku and other areas within the IKN border area,” Angraeni added.

She informed that during the initial operation of RSUP IKN, an induction program was held for civil servants (ASN) from the Health Ministry, which also served as an introduction to the core values, development direction, and governance of IKN.

As the first vertical RSUP in Kalimantan, it will focus on two main specialties -- cardiology and neurology -- to support a city ecosystem centered on improving quality of life and community well-being, she informed.

She said that the establishment of RSUP IKN is a strategic step by the IKN Authority to lay the foundation for equitable, inclusive, and nationally standardized public services.

It is hoped that it will emerge as a symbol of a city that places people at the center of development.

“The Health Ministry now has 38 central hospitals in Indonesia, one of which is RSUP IKN, the first central and vertical general hospital in Kalimantan,” Angraeni added.

All hospital employees are expected to set an example and provide education on healthy lifestyles to IKN residents and other communities living within the IKN limits.

She said that the IKN Authority will fully support efforts to make RSUP IKN a healthcare hub for areas around IKN and Kalimantan.
