To address this, he urged family support teams (TPKs) to ensure the success of the national priority program, given the critical importance of nutrition for the targeted beneficiaries, including to prevent stunting.
“The MBG program must be strictly monitored to ensure it reaches its intended beneficiaries. We must ensure that the prepared meal, which should be intended for pregnant women and toddlers, is not consumed by their husbands or fathers. The TPK must properly educate them,” the minister said on Friday.
He emphasized that the reach of the MBG program for the 3B group will continue to be expanded.
In addition, Wihaji described the role of nutrition fulfillment service units (SPPGs) as crucial for reaching targeted beneficiaries.
“The number of coverage will continue to grow as the program is implemented and coordination with all SPPGs in Indonesia continues. Now, the MBG program is not only intended for students, but also for pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers outside of Early Childhood Education (PAUD),” he added.
He said that the government needs to fulfill President Prabowo Subianto’s mandate to not only organize workshops and seminars, but also actively conduct field monitoring to ensure the progress of the MBG program.
“The President instructed me not to hold too many discussions, workshops, and seminars. Go into the field and solve problems, then assess whether the programs are effective. If not, find out why and keep monitoring it,” Wihaji informed.
Earlier, head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN), Dadan Hindayana, said that as of July 30, the MBG program has reached 7.55 million target groups across Indonesia, including PAUD to high school students, pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, and toddlers, with the help of 2,437 SPPGs.
