“Red and White cooperatives are tools for the people to strive toward a stronger economic standing,” he stated during the 2025 Annual Session of the MPR at the Parliamentary Building in Jakarta on Friday.
He emphasized that through the country’s more than 80 thousand village cooperatives, rural residents can access loans to start businesses and obtain affordable goods needed for agricultural activities.
Furthermore, he underlined the government’s vision for the cooperatives to help develop local micro, small, and medium enterprises, ultimately creating more job opportunities.
“This program is a strategic move to foster a modern economic ecosystem in villages -- an ecosystem that favors the common people,” Muzani affirmed.
Bearing that in mind, the lawmaker expressed hope that the government would remain consistent in implementing the program to serve the people’s interests.
In celebration of the 80th anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence Day, the country convened the 2025 Annual Session of the MPR alongside the 2025 Joint Session of the House of Representatives (DPR) and the Regional Representatives Council (DPD) on Friday morning.
President Prabowo Subianto is set to deliver his first annual state address during the session, outlining the work and performance of state institutions under his leadership in the first 10 months of his term.
He is also scheduled to present a speech on the 2026 State Budget at a DPR plenary session in the afternoon.
The government has prepared a series of activities for Independence Day on Sunday (August 17), including flag-hoisting and flag-lowering ceremonies, public feasts, a fireworks display, and a night parade.
All events will carry the grand theme “United and Sovereign, Prosperous People, and Advanced Indonesia.”
