“As President of Indonesia, I am responsible for the executive branch of government, and I am obliged to enforce the law for the safety of our nation. We are currently facing the reality of a significant outflow of national wealth,” Prabowo stated in his State of the Nation Address during the Annual Session of the People’s Consultative Assembly (MPR) at the parliamentary complex in Senayan, Jakarta, on Friday.
President Prabowo described the situation as a net outflow of national wealth, stressing the urgency for swift and strategic action.
He urged the nation to focus on solutions rather than assigning blame.
“Let us not waste our energy trying to find who is at fault. We do not have the time or resources to dwell on blame. The government I lead must prioritize identifying the right and timely solutions to this core issue,” he said.
Prabowo likened the situation to a body continuously losing blood, warning that such losses could prove fatal if left unchecked.
The President cautioned that if the outflow of national wealth is allowed to continue, Indonesia risks becoming a failed state.
Therefore, he underscored the need to take decisive, potentially unpopular measures to preserve national assets.

“I must take the necessary steps to safeguard our national wealth so it can be used for the benefit of our people—both today and in the future, for the current generation and those to come,” he said.
