SDGs are universal goals targeted to be achieved by 2030 with a total of 17 goals, 169 targets, and 241 indicators.
"As of 2024, our SDG indicators achievement has reached 61.4 percent," he said at the Public Consultation on the 2025-2030 Draft National Action Plan for SDGs in Jakarta on Wednesday.
He noted that the achievement is an important milestone for Indonesia to realize the 2030 Agenda and the 2045 Golden Indonesia vision.
Ruddyard highlighted that the Indonesian government is committed to accelerating the achievement of SDGs through Presidential Regulation Number 59 of 2017 and Number 111 of 2022 regarding the achievement of SDGs.
The two regulations regulate the making of a National Action Plan (RAN) and Regional Action Plan (RAD) on the implementation of SDGs.
The government has also regularly reported the developments in SDGs achievement to the UN through Voluntary National Review (VNR) and established SDGs Centers in 65 universities to support research and education regarding the issues.
Given that there are only five years left to achieve SDGs, the deputy minister stated that the government prepared several strategies to accelerate the achievement, including preparing stronger regulations, better data, more extensive advocacy, and innovative financing.
"We need multi-party collaboration comprising the government, private parties, academicians, civil society, the media, and philanthropies," he remarked.
To this end, on Wednesday, the ministry signed a cooperation agreement with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin), the Indonesia Global Compact Network (IGCN), and the Indonesia Philanthropy Association (PFI) as the government's partners.
"With collaboration, optimism, and openness, I believe we can realize an inclusive, equitable, and sustainable development towards our common goal of realizing a Golden Indonesia in 2045," he said.
