Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Armed Forces (TNI) will hold a full-dress rehearsal for its 80th anniversary celebration at the National Monument (Monas) in Central Jakarta in early October, a military official said Saturday.

TNI Spokesperson Maj. Gen. Freddy Ardianzah said a preliminary rehearsal will take place at the end of September, followed by the final run-through in early October. He did not disclose exact dates.

"The full rehearsal will simulate the entire ceremony, including the parade, military hardware showcase, ground and air combat simulations, parachute jumps, and fighter jet maneuvers," Freddy told ANTARA.

He said preparations are about 80 percent complete, despite some challenges during training at the venue.

"Weather conditions were less than ideal, but our personnel remained well-prepared with support from various parties," Freddy said.

He expressed hope that all troops would deliver their best performance during the national celebration.

The TNI’s 80th anniversary series began in August with nationwide sports competitions.

It continued with a military exhibition on September 21–22, which included medical services, food aid distribution, a display of military equipment, and a small business fair.

Other lead-up events include student weekend camps, a Navy sailing pass, grave visits, and will culminate in the main celebration on October 5.
