"In his grand vision, President Prabowo Subianto emphasizes that security and self-sufficiency in food, clean water, and energy must become the pillars of sustainability," he remarked at a press conference on the Indonesia International Sustainability Forum (ISF) 2025.
Speaking in Jakarta on Friday, AHY also underscored the need for all stakeholders to align steps toward sustainable development, including by increasing the quantity and quality of key infrastructure.
"We are talking about the future of the world, not only of Indonesia," he said. "It is crucial to pay equal attention to the sustainability aspect, thinking of what to do to protect the earth and leave behind a decent living environment for our descendants."
On that note, the minister implied the importance of finding balance between economic development and environmental sustainability.
He further stated that effective efforts toward sustainability require quality, competitive human resources and the mastery of technology, as well as a strong stream of investment, noting that a green agenda should not heavily rely on government funding.
For Indonesia to move in that direction, AHY called for sound synergy between various stakeholders, notably his ministry, the Investment and Downstreaming Ministry, and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Kadin).
Meanwhile, Kadin Deputy Chair for Human Development, Culture, and Sustainable Development Shinta Widjaja Kamdani highlighted that the ISF 2025 is aimed at promoting business models that align with eco-friendly principles and practices.
Taking place at the Jakarta Convention Center, the third iteration of the international event will run for two days through October 11.
