Jakarta (ANTARA) - BPKH Limited, a subsidiary of Indonesia’s Hajj Financial Management Agency, has signed a strategic partnership with Saudi Arabia Railway, operator of the Haramain High-Speed Railway, to enhance travel services for Indonesian Hajj and Umrah pilgrims and strengthen the pilgrimage economy.

BPKH Limited Director Sidiq Haryono said here Thursday that the collaboration aims to provide additional services for Indonesian pilgrims while improving the travel ecosystem both in Indonesia and abroad.

He described the agreement as a strategic move to expand BPKH Limited’s digital services through an Online Travel Agent (OTA) platform integrated with Indonesia’s Hajj and Umrah ecosystem.

As an official OTA, BPKH Limited can market all products and services of Saudi Arabia Railway, including direct ticket sales to travel agencies (B2B) and individual customers (B2C).

“For the initial stage, we are focusing on the B2B system since most Indonesian Umrah pilgrims travel in groups through agencies. This cooperation allows agents to access tickets directly at more competitive prices,” Sidiq said.

BPKH Limited plans to launch the service soon, offering promotional fares to travel agencies.

“We have prepared a special rate of 199 riyals for the Makkah-Madinah route, down from the previous B2B public price of about 246 riyals, giving a discount of more than 47 riyals per ticket,” he added.

The partnership will run for five years, with hopes that the high-speed train service will also support special Hajj pilgrims, while regular pilgrims continue to use intercity buses in Saudi Arabia.

“Starting this month, Indonesian travel agencies can book Haramain High-Speed Railway tickets through us. We expect this collaboration to make pilgrimage journeys faster and more convenient for Indonesian Muslims,” Sidiq said.

He noted the agreement also provides opportunities to expand the Hajj and Umrah economy within a long-term investment framework, with improved connectivity between holy cities offering pilgrims faster, more comfortable, and efficient travel services.
