Jakarta (ANTARA) - Youth and Sports Minister Erick Thohir stated that the Indonesia Sports Summit 2025 serves as a strategic momentum to advance the sports ecosystem in the country.

“The Indonesia Sports Summit 2025 is a collaborative platform and an important momentum for us to build a progressive, inclusive, and globally competitive sports ecosystem,” Thohir said here on Monday.

The Indonesia Sports Summit 2025, which will be held in December, is an event designed to bring together stakeholders and change-makers in the sports industry.

The event will gather representatives from athletes, policymakers, investors, entertainers, and innovators in various panel discussions, exhibitions, industry pavilions, partnership sessions, and job fairs.

The minister explained that the summit will serve as a collaborative platform between sports practitioners, the government, industry players, and the younger generation to build a sustainable and globally recognized national sports industry.

“From the field, from the stands, from the strategy rooms, all are united to strengthen Indonesia through the sports industry,” he remarked.

Earlier, Minister Thohir, together with Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian and Deputy Minister for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) Helvi Moraza, held a strategic meeting to discuss the event.

The three ministers agreed to strengthen the national sports ecosystem as a driver of economic growth.

As part of this effort, the Youth and Sports Ministry will facilitate sports activities using regional assets and support the development of the sports industry.

Meanwhile, the Home Affairs Ministry will play a role in strengthening the national sports ecosystem by encouraging local governments to optimize their assets for sports purposes.

In addition, the MSMEs Ministry will involve business actors in every sports-related activity.
