Arifah delivered the statement during a visit to the family home in Jakarta on Tuesday.
She stressed that schools must serve as safe spaces for children rather than environments where violence occurs.
According to her, recurring cases of bullying highlight the need for serious attention from all stakeholders.
Arifah expressed her condolences and ensured that the ministry is providing full support for the family, including psychological assistance and legal protection through coordination with the South Tangerang City UPTD PPA and the local PPPA Office.
The ministry will continue to monitor the progress of the case and press for firm measures to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Arifah also emphasized the importance of collaboration among families, schools, and communities to secure a safe learning environment for all children.
Based on coordination between the Sahabat Perempuan dan Anak (SAPA 129) service team and the South Tangerang City UPTD PPA, the bullying against MH is believed to have started during the school orientation period.
The victim reportedly suffered physical abuse, and between October 20 and 25, 2025, he was again assaulted by a seatmate and several other students.
He was allegedly struck with a metal chair, causing severe head injuries before being treated in intensive care at Fatmawati Hospital.
Tri Purwanto, Head of the South Tangerang City UPTD PPA, said his office conducted an immediate assessment upon receiving the report and provided psychological support to the family.
The UPTD also coordinated with the South Tangerang Police and the school to accelerate the handling of the case.
Cahyadi, Head of the South Tangerang City PPPA Office, reaffirmed the local government’s commitment to overseeing the legal process and ensuring that all child protection procedures are implemented properly.
The family’s legal representative welcomed the government’s attention while underscoring that the focus of law enforcement must remain on the core issue.
