Speaking at a press conference in Jakarta on Wednesday, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the government would provide toll road discounts ranging from 10 to 20 percent for three days on December 22, 23, and 31, 2025.
The discounts will be applied to 26 toll road sections, including two in Greater Jakarta (Jabodetabek), nine Trans-Java sections, three outside Java, and 12 Trans-Sumatra routes.
Transportation discounts will also be available for land, sea, air, and ferry services, following a similar scheme implemented during last year’s holiday period.
For sea transport operated by state-owned shipping company PT Pelayaran Nasional Indonesia (Pelni), a 20 percent discount will be in effect from December 17, 2025, to January 10, 2026.
State-owned ferry operator PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry will apply the same discount during that period.
Economy class train tickets will be discounted by about 30 percent for departures between December 22, 2025, and January 10, 2026.
For air travel, the government will provide discounts ranging from 13 to 14 percent during the same dates.
“This discount will apply to all economy class passengers,” Deputy Minister of Transportation Suntana said.
The discounts are based on joint decrees issued by four ministers and agency heads, including the Transportation Minister, mandating state-owned enterprises in the transportation sector to offer price reductions as part of an economic stimulus during the Christmas 2025 and New Year 2026 holidays.
