The statement was delivered during President Prabowo’s meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow on Wednesday.
“My visit was initially meant only for consultations, but now it is really to express my gratitude because the relations between Russia and Indonesia, for us, are now at a very good level,” Prabowo said, as monitored through a live stream on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel.
Prabowo noted that ties between Jakarta and Moscow have been developing very consistently this year, coinciding with the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two nations.
He added that Indonesia has received a number of visits from several delegations from Russia, including senior government officials and business leaders. Those meetings, he said, have led to productive discussions.
Indonesia has also facilitated interactions between various national industries and their counterparts from Russia.
“I have already arranged and connected several of our industrial sectors and companies, and it appears there have been many positive follow-ups,” he mentioned.
Prabowo was accompanied in the meeting by Foreign Minister Sugiono and Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya.
This meeting marks Prabowo’s second meeting with Putin in Russia this year. Previously, the President made a state visit to St. Petersburg from 18–20 June, during which he met Putin and attended the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF) 2025.
