The vice president and his entourage departed Jakarta on Sunday at around 6:30 a.m. local time aboard the presidential aircraft and arrived at Binaka Airport in Nias District, North Sumatra, approximately two and a half hours later, according to an official statement.
His agenda on Nias Island includes visiting a public vocational high school in Sifalago Gomo, South Nias District, to review bridge construction plans aimed at improving public mobility; assessing electrification efforts in Hilisebua Village, Nias District; and inspecting a gas-powered plant in Gunungsitoli City.
In Gunungsitoli, the vice president is also scheduled to review preparations for Christmas celebrations at Petrus Ombulata Church, ensuring that residents can carry out religious activities in a safe and comfortable environment.
The vice president's North Sumatra agenda will continue in North Tapanuli District on Monday (December 22), where he is set to assess the impact of landslides in Sibalanga Village, Adian Koting Sub-district, and ensure optimal services for victims as well as coordinated post-disaster emergency measures.
He is also scheduled to greet citizens at Pearaja Tarutung Church before flying to Bitung City, North Sulawesi, to attend a Christmas event at Manembo-nembo Sports Hall later the same day.
On Tuesday (December 23), the vice president plans to visit Bersehati Market in Manado City to ensure that food commodity prices and supplies remain stable ahead of the year-end holidays.
He will then conclude his North Sulawesi agenda with a Christmas celebration alongside children at Sam Ratulangi Church in Manado, reaffirming the government’s commitment to social and religious services.
He is scheduled to return to Jakarta on the same day after completing the series of official visits.
