Jakarta (ANTARA) - Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya on Thursday opened a limited meeting chaired by President Prabowo Subianto to discuss the construction of 600 temporary housing units for communities affected by disasters in Sumatra, in Aceh Tamiang District, Aceh.

According to a live broadcast on the Presidential Secretariat’s YouTube channel from Jakarta, Teddy said the meeting was part of the review of Danantara Indonesia’s plan to build a total of 15,000 temporary homes (Huntara).

“Ten ministers and members of the Red-White Cabinet, along with 15 state-owned enterprise (SOE) CEOs, are present to review the 600 housing units, part of the 15,000 planned by Danantara,” Teddy said.

In addition to discussing the progress of the temporary housing construction, the meeting also coordinated with Aceh Governor Muzakir Manaf, Deputy Governor Fadhlullah, Aceh Tamiang District Head Armia Fahmi, and their teams.

The 15,000 temporary housing units are planned to be built across three provinces, 12,000 units in Aceh, around 2,000 units in North Sumatra, and 500 units in West Sumatra.

In the first phase, 600 units are being constructed in Aceh Tamiang Regency, scheduled to be handed over to local authorities on Jan. 8, 2026. Along with the housing units, the government will also provide playgrounds, WiFi networks, 14 communal kitchens, and 120 toilets and bathrooms.

President Prabowo Subianto visited Aceh Tamiang on Thursday to inspect the temporary housing project developed by Danantara.

The presidential delegation included State Secretary Prasetyo Hadi, Foreign Minister Sugiono, Cabinet Secretary Teddy Indra Wijaya, Coordinating Minister for Infrastructure and Regional Development Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono, Home Affairs Minister Tito Karnavian, and Defense Minister Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin.
