In a written statement on Monday (Jan 5), he said the actions violate humanitarian law and human rights commitments, undermine the United Nations (UN) peace framework, and reflect US efforts to maintain hegemony.

He stated that the US actions constitute aggression and colonialism that contradict the values of humanity and justice.
Taufiq stated that Indonesia rejects all forms of colonialism and will continue to play an active role in efforts to achieve world peace.
He also encouraged international youth organizations to defend civilians, reaffirm state sovereignty, and uphold peace as a non-negotiable political principle.
"We reaffirm the solidarity of Indonesian youth with the people and youth of Venezuela and our support for the Bolivarian leadership," said Taufiq, who is also the Chairman of the Central Executive Board of the Indonesian National Youth Committee (KNPI).
Previously, the Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed concern over the situation in Venezuela and warned that US actions risked setting a dangerous precedent in international relations.

The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized that the international community must respect the Venezuelan people's right to determine their country's future.
US President Donald Trump announced on Saturday (Jan 3) that his troops had launched a large-scale military operation in Venezuela and arrested President Nicolás Maduro and his wife.
