Jakarta (ANTARA) - In his special address to the World Economic Forum (WEF), Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto invited state leaders and prominent global figures to participate in the Ocean Impact Summit, scheduled for June 2026 in Bali.

At the WEF Annual Meeting 2026 in Davos, Switzerland, on Thursday (Jan. 22), he emphasized that Indonesia is set to host its first Ocean Impact Summit and affirmed his government’s commitment to supporting the event in collaboration with the economic forum.

“I look forward to meeting you in Indonesia, where we will host our first Ocean Impact Summit in Bali this June,” Prabowo told world leaders.

The president noted that the upcoming summit underscores Indonesia’s determination to strengthen global collaboration in protecting and sustainably managing oceans and marine resources.

He also emphasized his deep concern for maritime issues as the leader of an archipelagic nation blessed with vast waters.

“Indonesia, with three-quarters of its territory consisting of seas, truly cares about the future of our oceans,” Prabowo said.

Furthermore, the head of state noted that Ray Dalio, a renowned philanthropist and hedge fund manager, is expected to attend the Bali Ocean Impact Summit.

“I believe Mr. Ray Dalio is one of the pioneers in marine research,” he said, citing Dalio’s nonprofit ocean exploration initiative, OceanX, and its vessel OceanXplorer.

President Prabowo delivered his special address at the Congress Hall, the main venue of the WEF Annual Meeting 2026. He spoke on the same stage as other world leaders, including US President Donald J. Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron.

The Indonesian leader used the global forum to present his government’s vision, achievements, and economic strategies, which observers and experts have come to call “Prabowonomics.”
