"Women need to enhance their capacity to adapt to rapid changes. Their role is crucial as the primary educators of children—the nation's future generation," she said in Jakarta on Monday.
The minister made these remarks during the opening of the National Working Meeting of the Indonesian Women Care Alliance (Alppind).
Fauzi stressed that women play a strategic role as the main pillars of families and community development, as well as serving as agents of social change.
Therefore, she further said, women must continuously enhance their digital capacity and resilience amid today's rapid digital transformation.
"This capability is critical for filtering information and protecting both oneself and the family in cyberspace," she emphasized.
The minister affirmed that her ministry has taken several initiatives, including improving digital literacy for women and homemakers, and encouraging women's participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
In terms of protection, the ministry is actively advocating for gender-responsive digital policies and has launched campaigns to prevent online gender-based violence (OGBV).
Furthermore, the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection also continues to bolster family resilience by monitoring the Family Quality Index, providing education on child-rights-based parenting, and creating safe spaces free from all forms of violence.
Meanwhile, Alppind Chairperson Atifah Hasan noted that the working meeting aims to seek solutions for better digital ecosystem governance for women.
Amid the threat of the digital era, she underscored the need to strengthen women's capacity and position to guard families' resilience.
"Women are at the forefront of change, serving both as guardians of family values and character, as well as economic actors and agents of change within society," Hasan remarked.
