Jakarta (ANTARA) - All participants of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) detained by the Israeli military, which intercepted their convoy earlier this week, have been released, according to the Global Peace Convoy Indonesia (GPCI) coalition on Thursday.

GPCI media coordinator Harfin Naqsyabandy, as confirmed here, said that the participants, including nine Indonesians, have been freed from the Ktziot prison by the Zionist regime.

The flotilla participants are now awaiting their deportation from Israel through the Ramon/Eilat Airport to Istanbul, Turkey.

"The Adalah legal team is monitoring closely to ensure all the activists, including Indonesians, are released safely without any further delay," Naqsyabandy said, referring to the Palestinian-run human rights organization in Israel.

It has been confirmed that the flotilla participants endured physical torture during their kidnapping, including beatings and being shot with rubber bullets by Zionist forces.

GPCI is confirming the condition of Indonesians kidnapped by Israel, he said, as his side expressed hope that the nine Indonesians did not suffer from the violence during their incarceration.

Naqsyabandy said that GPCI is coordinating intensively with Indonesia's Foreign Ministry regarding the Indonesian participants in the flotilla, and the repatriation process will be overseen by legal, diplomatic, and other international networks supportive of the GSF.

The coalition is preparing their departure for Turkey to meet the released Indonesian volunteers, he added.

"Let us pray for the safe arrival of all the delegate members, including our Indonesian compatriots," he remarked.

Indonesia’s Foreign Ministry has been contacted for comment regarding the release of the Indonesian nationals at the time of publication.
