Jakarta (ANTARA) - The Indonesian Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the Indonesian government condemns the inhumane actions taken against the volunteers of the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 by Israel.

Indonesia condemns the inhumane actions taken against the volunteers of the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 by Israel. Such actions are contrary to humanitarian principles, the ministry said in a statement posted on social media platform X in Jakarta, Thursday.

Indonesia once again emphasizes that Israel's military actions against the Global Sumud Flotilla and the volunteers involved therein constitute a clear violation of international law.

"The Indonesian Government continues to focus on various efforts to secure the release of all Indonesian citizens who have been detained," it said.

Since the initial departure of the Global Sumud Flotilla, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant Indonesian representations have been coordinating closely with various parties to ensure the safety and protection of Indonesian citizens.

The ministry emphasized that protecting Indonesian citizens is the government’s top priority. Therefore, the government will continue to monitor the release process for these Indonesian citizens until they return safely to their homeland.

"The protection of Indonesian citizens remains the top priority. The Indonesian Government will continue to monitor the release process until all Indonesian citizens can return safely to the homeland as soon as possible," according to the statement.
