While opening the 2026 Job Fair in Magelang, Central Java, on Tuesday, the deputy minister urged young people not to focus solely on working for large companies but to take advantage of career opportunities offered by the MSME sector.
Noor stated that MSMEs are often viewed as a second choice when job seekers fail to secure positions at large companies. However, MSMEs are dynamic workplaces capable of developing creative, adaptive human resources equipped to overcome operational challenges.
"As someone involved in the world of employment, I want to convey that there is currently an economic giant thriving around us, but it is often overlooked. That giant is MSMEs," he said.
He stated that MSMEs are no longer merely an alternative but a true career path where workers can build extraordinary professional lives.
According to him, working in the MSME sector encourages workers to be more creative and adaptive despite resource constraints. This hands-on experience is crucial for improving human resource competence and competitiveness.
He noted that the future of the Indonesian economy rests not only on a handful of large corporations but also on the millions of MSMEs operating nimbly in various regions as the backbone of local economies.
Noor advised job seekers, especially the younger generation, not to be discouraged if they have not yet secured employment at a large company.
"If the doors of large companies have not opened today, do not consider yourself a failure. Continue improving yourself because opportunities will always come to those who keep trying," he said.
