Washington (ANTARA News/AFP) - US President Barack Obama said Saturday that the shooting in Arizona which left at least five people dead and a Democratic congresswoman wounded was a "tragedy for our entire country."

In an on-camera statement at the White House, Obama said the shooting outside a shopping center in the southwestern state was an "unspeakable act" and said a full investigation was underway.

"This is more than a tragedy for those involved it is a tragedy for Arizona a tragedy for our entire country," Obama said, adding that he had dispatched FBI Director Robert Mueller to Arizona to help lead the investigation.
