Bogor, W Java (ANTARA News) - A married couple of Pertiwi Housing Complex in Kedung Halak Lebak, Cilebut Timur, Sukaraja subdistrict, Bogor regency, was killed by a passing electric train at the Under Pass of Jalan Sholeh Iskandar, Bogor, Tuesday.

The dead couple, Rusdi Rozali (61) and his wife Nurhayati (58), had already been evacuated by the local people and the police and brought to the forensic room of the Bogor Indonesian Red Cross office.

An eyewitness said the married couple had been ran over by the Pakuan Express coming from the Bogor railway station to Jakarta when trying to cross the railway track.

"Both were run over by the speeding train while trying to cross, but unfortunately when trying to cross the woman fell on the track and when her husband tried to save her he was too late," Memet, an eyewitness said.

One of the local people said the crossing has no warning signs, and accidents had frequently happened there.(*)
