Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Foreign Ministry will soon issue a statement on the latest situation in Egypt, including more information on an Indonesian citizen, Imanda Amalia (28), who was reportedly killed on Wednesday (Feb 2).

Tatang Budi Utama, the ministry`s director for protection of citizens and legal entities, said here Thursday Foreign Minister Marty Natalegawa would make the statement on the latest situation in Egypt on Thursday evening.

"We are now still discussing matters related to the Indonesian citizen who was reportedly killed," he said.

Until now, the government had evacuated 415 of the 6,100 Indonesians living in Egypt. Some of them have been accommodated at the Hajj Boarding House at Pondok Gede, East Jakarta, and some others had been sent to their hometowns.

The evacuation of Indonesian citizens from Egypt was continuing with the second planeload of evacuees expected to land at Soekarno Hatta International Airport later in the day.

In relation to the death of Imanda Amalia, Tatang did not give any clarification.

"The minister is going to clarify it all by himself," Tatang said. (*)
