Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Saudi Immigration Directorate for Foreigners through the Jidda Deportation Office has repatriated 1,922 overstayed Indonesians in January 2011.

The overstayed Indonesians consisted of 1,213 migrant workers consisting of 267 male and 946 female, the 528 remainder who held an umroh visa consisted of 413 male, 115 male and 181 children of the overstayers, a press release of the Indonesian Consulate General in Jidda received in Jakarta said Sunday.

The number of overstaying Indonesians will continue to increase, because there are many others in Jidda including those staying under the Kendarah bridge.

The repatriation of the overstayers is rather difficult because of the Saudi government`s regulation requiring the overstayers to undergo an immigration process and securing an exit permit.

In December 2010, the Saudi immigration repatriated 959 Indonesian overstayers. (*)
