We are dealing with individualsJakarta (ANTARA News) - National Police Chief General Timur Pradopo said the police would act firmly against anyone found breaking the law in the clash between Ahmadiyah followers and local residents in Pandeglang, Banten, on Sunday.
"We are against violations of the law, meaning anyone breaking the law will be dealt with firmly," he said.
The chief of the national police`s criminal investigation department, Commissioner General Ito Sumardi, said the national police chief had ordered all police units concerned to come to the location of the incident," he said.
"Right now control over the investigation into the case is directly held by deputy national police chief," he said.
Officers from the National Police Headquarters were currently helping to investigate the case. They were members of the criminal investigation department, the riot police, intelligence and crime control and community supervision, Ito said.
"We wish to conduct an on-the-spot investigation as this is a criminal crime," he said.
Ito said only after a profound investigation had been conducted would the causes and the perpetrators of the violence be known.

He said the police had already questioned eight witnesses so far in connection with the violent clash in Pendeuy, Umbulan, Cikeusik, Pandeglang, Banten, on Sunday that left three people dead.(*)
