Peundeuy sub-district head Rosidin said that the fire broke out in the dense-populated area at 3.30 pm.
The fire came from a house owned by Suti (45), and quickly spread to its surroundings.
The ten houses belonged to Suti, Didin, Asum, Endang, Herman, Dida, Makin, Idrus, Ahmad and Dayat.
However, there were no report on fatalities or serious injuries.
The flames had been put out by the local residents with the help of a fire engine.
The police is still trying to determine the real cause of the mishap and the material loss, which may reach hundreds of millions of rupiah. (*)
