Bandar Seri Begawan (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono arrived in Brunei Darussalam at around 12.30pm on Thursday for a two day state visit.

President Yudhoyono and first lady Any Yudhoyono were welcomed at 3pm at Nurul Iman Palace by Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah and wife Mrs Pengiran Anak Hajah Saleha in a state ceremony that includes singing of the two countries` national anthems.

After the ceremony the two entered the palace and shook hands with officials of the two countries.

The two leaders would conduct limited talks at the palace which would be continued with a bilateral meeting and the signing of several memorandum of understanding.

According to a statement from the president`s special staff for international relations Teuku Faizasyah during the visit a memorandum of understanding on agriculture and a Letter of Intent in fishery are expected to be signed.

"They will also discuss increasing cooperation in various other fields," he said.

President Yudhoyono is also scheduled to plant a tree at Perangin Tasek Lama Garden in capital Bandar Seri Begawan.

While in that country President Yudhoyono is also scheduled to meet with the Indonesian community in Bandar Seri Begawan and attend the dedication of the new Indonesian embassy building at Wisma Duta Indonesia guesthouse.

"The state visit is expected to deepen the relations between Indonesia and Brunei Darussalam. Concrete plans in the field of consular affairs, trade and agriculture are expected to also help increase the weight of the two countries` relations," he said.

Faizasyah said the two countries were now just planning to increase cooperation in infrastructure investment, health and fishery as well as people-to-people contacts.

President Yudhoyono and first lady Ani Yudhoyono and delegation are scheduled to arrive home on Friday.

Among the ministers in his delegation are foreign minister Marty Natalegawa, education minister M Nuh, manpower and transmigration minister Muhaimin Iskandar, minister of culture and tourism Jero Wacik and minister of energy and mineral resources Darwin Saleh.
