Pontianak, West Kalimantan (ANTARA News) - West Kalimantan marine and fisheries agency chief Gatot Rudiono will invite Thai ambassador to Indonesia Thanatip Upatising to review the province`s fishery potential.

Gatot said here on Wednesday that Thanatip Upatising would be invited to review the fishery potential in the province in order to make the investors from his country more stable to invest in the fishery sector in West Kalimantan.

"Thai investors want to invest in West Kalimantan and they came here for the first time with the Thai envoy. Therefore I will take them to the fish producing centers," Gatot said.

He expressed hope that the Thai investors would invest in the fishery sector in the province.

Gatot explained that the province had fish industry areas and fish ports, and therefore he would let the Thai investors to invest in the fish processing industry.

He said West Kalimantan has also offered similar opportunitities to Vietnamese investors.

Meanwhile, West Kalimantan Regional Capital Investment Board (BPMD)*s spokesman Zulkarnaen said the Thai investors had a profound interest in investing in the fishery sector in the province because geographically it has good fishery potentials.

Therefore Zulkarnaen said he would encourage the local business makers to make business contacts with their Thai counterparts to invest in the province with he facilities of the local government.(*)
