Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State oil company PT Pertamina (Persero) has confirmed that the fire in its Cilacap refinery complex in Central Java has not affected fuel oil distribution.

"The refinery remains in operation normally and it`s confirmed that fuel oil distribution is not affected by the incident," M Harun, Pertamina spokesman, said here Saturday.

The fire started from Tank 31.02 having a capacity of 10,487 kiloliters. When it broke out starting on Saturday at 4.55 am local time, it contained High Octane Mogas Component (HOMC).

The Cilacap refinery has four units of HOMC tanks with total capacity of 61,300 kiloliters.

So far, the fire has not claimed any casualty. Up to 11.00 am local time, the fire was still burning.

Firefighters were still trying to put out the fire.

Pertamina have emptied other tanks to prevent the fire from spreading.

"We are still investigating," he said when being asked about the cause of the fire and the material losses inflicted by the fire.

Pertamina has apologized for causing possible inconvenience to people living near the refinery complex.
