The neighborhood chief election which was held in Grogol sub district in West Jakarta had cost the four men, aged 30-40 years, their lives because of over excitement.
"The men held a liquor party to celebrate their candidate`s victory," said an eye-witness, M Bachtiar, here Wednesday.
The four dead alcohol consumers were identified as Ending, Joko Purwanto, Edi Rohadi and a man from outside the area whose name was still unknown.
They were believed to have consumed high grade alcohol beverages on Monday (April 11), the night after the election was held and won by their associate, Rahmat.
A few hours after their party, all four men fell to the floor unconscious presumably by excessive intake of alcohol and they eventually died.
The fatal "alcoholic party"" case is now being investigated by the West Jakarta police who have already questioned several eye-witnesses.
