Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Following the latest suicide bombing incident in Cirebon, West Java, during Friday`s prayers at the local police precinct, the security of the Police Headquarters had been tightened.

The measure was apparent from the direct supervision of the Headquarters` service chief Senior Police Commissioner Sadino at the entrance gate.

"This is an evaluation measure and the security will be increased," Sadino said while continuing his inspection of the headquarters and entrance.

Action in other precincts would involve metal detectors and journalists covering the Police Headquarters are required to show their press cards.

As earlier reported the suspected suicide bombing at a mosque in the compound of the Cirebon police office in West Java on Friday killed a man and wounded at least 17 others at 12.20 local time.

Cirebon Police chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Herukoco happened to be one of the wounded victims.

Besides Herukoco, Cirebon Police`s human Resources Department chief and the Traffic Unit Police Chief, along with two civil servants and civilians were also among the victims while the suicide bomber is suspected to be the dead man.

"The suspected suicide bomber is believed to have strapped the bomb on his body," National Police spokesman Insp. Gen. Anton Bachrul Alam said (*)
