Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Police said four of the alleged terror suspects arrested recently were adept at making bombs.

"They are Pepi, J, E and F," National Police Headquarters` spokesman Senior Commissioner Boy Rafli Amar said here on Tuesday.

He said the four suspects learned the expertise by themselves.

He also said the police believed Pepi was the mastermind behind the planned bombing near Christ Cathedral in Summarecon Gading Serpong, Tangerang, Banten province.

Police arrested Pepi in Aceh on Thursday (April 21) after they arrested 19 other suspects in several places in Jakarta.

The police anti-terror Densus 88 unit discovered explosives at the house belonging to Pepi in Harapan Indah Housing Complex in Bekasi, West Java, on Saturday, April 23.

Boy said the evidence discovered so far included a hand grenade, explosive mixtures, empty bomb casings and a ready-to-use bomb can, a welding tool, an iron bar and a clock.

"We also discovered 25 books and clippings," he said.

A total of 20 suspects have been arrested so far in connection with book bomb terror and the bomb terror in Serpong.

Boy meanwhile said that J had been prepared to become "a bridegroom" or a suicide bomber.

"J was prepared to become a bridegroom to conduct bombing," he said.

He said it was still on a preparatory stage and who would be the target was not yet known.

He said "J was Pepi`s friend in one of the universities," he said.

Police discovered bombs at a gas pipeline last Thursday at a about 100 meter from the Christ Cathedral.

On March 15 the police meanwhile discovered book bomb parcels in three locations and another on March 16.

The parcel addressed to Ulil Abshar Abdalla, the chief of the Utan Kayu Community, exploded when the police tried to dissolve hurting two officers and a security guard.

The other parcels were aimed at Pancasila youth figure Yapto Suryosoemarno, chief of the National Anti-Narcotics Agency, Gories Mere and noted musician Ahmad Dhani.
