"The Democrat Party promises it will not interfere in the legal process of Nazaruddin," Jero Wacik, who is also tourism and culture minister, said before he attended a cabinet meeting at the presidential office here on Thursday.
But he also asked that other people should not interfere in the legal process. "PD will not interfere in it and I also ask that other people would neither do so," he said.
The minister said that the Democrat Party was doing its best to ask Nazaruddin to return home. But he admitted that his party had no knowledge on the whereabouts of the former PD general treasurer.
"We don`t know where he is now. He is disappearing and we should look for him," Jero Wacik who is also a member of PD Ethics Council said.
Jero Wacik said that the PD was leaving the fate of Nazaruddin to the legal process and suggested that the legal process would force him to go home.
"Now we leave him to the legal process and if he has to be sought he should return home by way of laws," he said.
In the meantime, EE Mangindaan, another PD Honorary Coucil member, said that his party had no plan yet to discharge Nazaruddin from his position as a member of the House of Representatives (DPR).
It has neither plan yet to fire Nazaruddin from the membership of the Democrat Party.
He said that Nazaruddin had to meet several conditions such as being absent for a certain period in the House before he could be dismissed as a legislator.
"He has not yet be fired, he has to violate the conditions first before he could be discharged," Mangindaan said.(*)
