"Until July 30, 2011 total capitalization of state-owned companies reached Rp862.07 trillion or 25.93 percent of total capitalization from 428 companies listed at the exchange," State Enterprises Minister Mustafa Abubakar said at his office here on Thursday.
He said state-owned companies that recorded the biggest contribution was PT Bank Mandiri Tbk. with its contribution reaching Rp168 trillion followed by PT Bank BRI Tbk. Rp160.35 trillion, PT Telkom Rp148.18 trillion, PT PGN Tbk. Rp97.57 trillion, and PT Bank BNI Tbk. Rp72.26 trillion.
The others included PT Semen Gresik Tbk. with its contribution reaching Rp56.94 trillion, PT Bukit Asam Tbk. Rp47.93 trillion, PT Jasa Marga Tbk. Rp24.66 trillion, PT Aneka Tambang Tbk. Rp19.79 trillion, PT Krakatau Steel Tbk. Rp16.41 trillion and PT Bank BTN Tbk. Rp14.88 trillion.
On the whole state-owned companies continued to perform better. "In view of that we keep encouraging other state-owned companies to go public to create transparency," he said.
He said the improvement in the listed state-owned companies was also reflected in the inclusion of six companies in the Forbes Global 2000, the decision of which was based on the combination of sales, net income, asset and market capitalization performance by March 2011.
The six companies are PT Bank Mandiri Tbk., ranked 652nd, PT Telkom Tbk., ranked 673rd, PT Bank BRI Tbk., ranked 692nd, PT Bank BNI Tbk., ranked 1,296th, PT PGN Tbk., ranked 1,325th and PT Semen Gresik Tbk., ranked 1,939th.
Total market value of the six companies by March 2011 reached US$71.4 billion rising from US$55 billion in the same period last year.(*)
