Yogyakarta (ANTARA News) - Air Force Chief of Staff Marshal Imam Sufaat on Friday installed Rear Marshal Bambang Samoedro as governor of the Air Force Academy (AAU) in Yogyakarta replacing Rear Marshal Ida Bagus Putu Dunia.

The transfer of post of AAU governor took place at the Dirgantara Square in the AAU compounds in Yogyakarta.

In his address Marshal Imam Sufaat said transfer of post was part of the Indonesian Air Force (TNI AU)`s mechanism to nurture its personnel in a well-planned, orderly and sustainable manner to ensure that the life of the organization could run soundly and dynamically.

Therefore, he added any replacement of officials must be seen as an important event from the point of view of organizational dynamics and personnel development.

Viewed from the organizational dynamics, the replacement of officials would allow the TNI AU to empower its personnel as optimally as possible, he said.

As such, it would create fresh atmosphere in the life of the organization and increase work motivation which would in the end allow the organization to work better than before, he said.

The air force chief of staff said viewed from personnel development, the replacement of officials would hopefully open opportunities for TNI AU personnel to develop their career according to their achievement.

"The two aspects must work in a harmonious, balanced and complementary way, meaning that the organization needs personnel who have achievement while on the other hand, the personnel must see posts as a means to make achievement," he said.

Rear Marshal Bambang Samoedro was formerly chief of the TNI AU`s information service, while Rear Marshal Ida Bagus Putu Dunia will later take up the post of assistant for personnel affairs to the Air Force Chief of Staff.(*)
