The overseas travel ban was issued to Aradea based on the Attorney General`s Office`s letter dated September 21, 2011, spokesman of the Attorney General`s Office Noor Rachmad said here on Thursday.
"The letter has been faxed to the immigration authorities," he said.
The Attorney General`s Office earlier also imposed an overseas travel ban on former Merpati Nusantara Airlines president director Hotasi Nababan.
The two are expected to undergo questioning at the Attorney General`s Office on Friday (Sept 23).
The case surrounds an agreement between Merpati Nusantara Airlines and Thirdstone Aircraft Leasing Group Inc (TALG) of the United States.
Under the agreement signed in December 2006, TALG expressed its readiness to lease Boeing 737-400 and 737-500 to Merpati Nusantara Airlines which later transferred US$1 million to the US company as security deposit.
However, until January 2007, TALG failed to meet the order and the security deposit could not be withdrawn.
The Attorney General`s Office sees the act taken by the Merpati Nusantara Airlines` board of directors as corruption.(*)
