Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The State Audit Board (BPK) will soon finish its forensic audit on former Bank Century which has changed its name to Mutiara Bank, the board`s chief, said here on Tuesday.

"Hopefully, we can finish it soon," BPK Chairman Hadi Purnomo said after submitting the First Semester Summary of BPK`s Audits (IHPS I) to President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.

Hadi could not answer the question whether the audit would also show the alleged transfer of Rp1 billion from former Century Bank owner Robert Tantular to Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Budi Mulya.

"I still do not know because I have not received the report," he said.

He said the forensic auditing and report filing were still ongoing and therefore he could not yet speak on it in detail.

The board of governors of Bank Indonesia had already stated that Bank Indonesia Deputy Governor Budi Mulya violated the code of ethics by engaging in a relationship with the bank owner for personal interests.

Bank Indonesia spokesman Difi A Johansyah said the meeting of the board of governors on September 19, 2011, decided to transfer the tasks of monetary management held by Budi Mulya to another deputy governor.

Budi Mulya however remains in his position as Bank Indonesia deputy governor pending the results of a BPK investigation.

He said the decision was made based on information from outside and Budi`s confession that he had borrowed money from Robert Tantular in 2008.

The Bank Century case emerged after Bank Century received a short-term funding facility from Bank Indonesia worth Rp689 billion in the middle of 2008.

The bank also received a bailout from the Deposit Insurance Agency (LPS) totaling Rp6.7 trillion to prevent its collapse in the midst of economic crisis the government feared could have a systemic effect.
