Jakarta (ANTARA News) - President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono at the State Palace here on Wednesday installed new ministers and deputy ministers of the United Indonesia Cabinet II lineup following a reshuffle on Tuesday.

In the ceremony taking place at 9 am local time, the head of state delivered a speech containing his directives on government policies until 2014.

On Tuesday evening, President Yudhoyono announced the new lineup of his cabinet, saying the reshuffle was aimed at improving the performance and effectiveness of the cabinet.

New ministers include Lawl and Human Rights Minister Dr. Amir Syamsuddin, Administrative Reforms Minister Azwar Abubakar, Trade Minister Gita Wirjawan, State-owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Minister Syarif Cicip Sutardjo, Public Housing Minister Djan Faridz and Environmental Affairs Minister Prof. Dr. Baltazar Kambuaya.

New deputy ministers are Musliar Kasim (the education and culture ministry, in charge of education), Wiendu Nurhayati (the education and culture ministry, in charge of culture, Prof. Denny Indarayana (the legal and human rights ministry), Eko Prasodjo (the administrative reform ministry), Widjajono Partowidagdo (the energy and mineral resource ministry), Wardana (the deputy foreign affairs ministry), Sapta Nirwandar (the tourism and creative economic ministry), Mahmudin (the state-owned enterprises ministry), Prof. Ali Ghufron (the health ministry), and Rusman Heriyawan (the agriculture ministry).

Ministers shifted to other positions are Jero Wacik who is now energy and mineral resources minister, EE Mangindaan transportation minister, and Mari Elka Pangestu tourism and creative economy minister, and Gusti Muhammad Hatta research and technology minister.

Bayu Krisnamurthi was appointed deputy trade minister and Mahendra Siregar deputy finance minister.

Lt. General Marciano Noorman was named National Intelligence Agency (BIN) chief.

In announcing the lineup of the reshuffled cabinet, the President was accompanied by Vice President Boediono, Minister/State Secretary Sudi Sulalahi and members of the presidential staff.
