Moscow (ANTARA News/AFP) - Two Russian fighter pilots died on Thursday when their Soviet-era Su-24 jet overshot a runway in the Far East and burst into flames, news reports said.

Military prosecutors said they were investigating what caused the Amur region accident but provided few initial details, the RIA Novosti news agency reported.

The original Su-24 was introduced into service by the Soviet Union in the 1960s and its latest modified version has recently been sold to African countries and parts of the Middle East.
