TM is the younger brother of Pino Damayanto alias Ahmad Urip alias Ahmad Yosefa alias Hayat alias Raharjo, the suicide bomber at the Bether Injil Sepenuh Church (GBIS).Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Police`s anti-terror unit Densus 88 on Sunday (Oct 23) arrested TM, the younger brother of the suicide bomber at a church in Solo last September 25, in Bandung, West Java.
"To be exact, Densus 88 arrested a man known by his intials as TM at 7.30 am in Bandung on Sunday who is now still being interrogated," the head of the National Police`s public relations division, Inspector General Anton Bachrul Alam, said here on Wednesday.
TM is the younger brother of Pino Damayanto alias Ahmad Urip alias Ahmad Yosefa alias Hayat alias Raharjo, the suicide bomber at the Bether Injil Sepenuh Church (GBIS).
Anton said the police are still investigating to see whether he had any connection with members of the Solo or Cirebon terrorist cells.
"We arrested him because we wished to know if he was involved or was linked with members of the groups," he said.
Anton said the police had 7 x 24 hours to determine whether he could be named a suspect or not.
"If he is indeed involved, we certainly will name him a suspect. And if not, we will release him," he said.
He said the police arrested him following information gathered in the field. He said some had been arrested but more evidence from the field was still needed to name him suspect.
"Information must be checked and proven with evidence found in the field. If the evidence is found we could name him suspect," he said.
Ahmad is a member of the Jamaah Ansharut Tauhid (JAT) of the Cirebon chapter and also a friend of Muhammad Syarif, the suicide bomber at the Adz Zikra mosque in the Cirebon city police compound.
Ahmad was the one that accompanied Muhammad Syarif to the Adz Zikra where he detonated himself on April 15, 2011.(*)
