Jakarta (ANTARA News) - Nunun Nurbaeti, a suspect in a high-profile bribery case will undergo medical check-up soon after she arrives at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) office here, the anti-graft body spokesman said here Saturday.

"Ms Nunun soon after she arrives at KPK office will undergo a medical check-up. As we all know, she was reported to be ill," KPK spokesman Johan Budi said.

Johan confirmed that Nunun Nurbaeti was arrested in Thailand by the Thai Royal Police on Friday (Dec 9).

Nunun was taken from Bangkok to Jakarta by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK), according to information from the foreign minister.

According to Johan, six KPK investigators and prosecutors went to Bangkok to pick up Nunun, wife of the former deputy chief of the national police, Adang Daradjatun.

Johan was unable to relate in detail the process of Nunun`s arrest in Thailand because the arrest was not carried out by the KPK itself.

"We have no authority to make arrests abroad, as it was the Thai police or Interpol that did it. We only waited for the result of their action," Johan said.

Nunun who was declared a suspect in the case of a number of House of Representatives (DPR)`s commission IX (1999-2004) members who allegedly accepted bribes in connection with the election of Miranda Gultom as Bank Indonesia (BI or central bank) senior deputy governor in 2004, went abroad about two years ago.

The KPK declared her a suspect in February 2011 or while she was abroad where she was said to be staying for treatment of an illness. In its efforts to capture Nunun, the KPK through the National Police eventually sought the assistance of Interpol.
