Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The ruling Democrat Party has urged other parties in the government coalition to remain consistent in their support for the administration and be honest.

"Do not stand on two footholds and take advantage at the expense of others," the party`s deputy secretary general, Ramadhan Pohan, said here on Tuesday.

He said several parties in the coalition had shown an inconsistent and dishonest attitude such as on the Bank Century bailout issue.

"In the Bank Century issue they have been dishonest. They say they will support the government of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Vice President Boediono until 2014 (the end of their term) but at the same time they keep bashing the government for various illogical reasons," he said.

The Democrat Party was challenging political parties in the coalition, especially their cadres who had so far been very critical of the government, to be honest and act accordingly toward the government.

"Do not say you support the government while stabbing it in the back. If you do not support the government, just leave (the coalition). We (Democrat Party) will readily let you go, if you so wish," he said.

Ramdhan said a recent statement from a coalition party member that they did that out of orders from the party only proved what he had said before was true that what they had done was known by their leaders.

"It isn`t that he said he had been ordered by the general chairman to do what he had done. It means the stabbing was known by the party`s chief. So if the elite said that Bambang (Golkar Party cadre) is loose and is out of control that is a lie," he said.

President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono had said that political atmosphere in the country would be hotter close to the general elections in 2014 this year.
