Jakarta (ANTARA News) - The Attorney General`s Office (AGO) will next week grill a number of Indosat Mega Media (IM2) managers as witnesses in an alleged graft case in connection with the abuse of frequency band 2.1 Ghz that has inflicted Rp3.8 trillion in losses to the state.

The questioning would take place on February 2, spokesman of the Attorney General`s Office Noor Rachmad said here on Tuesday.

Among the witnesses who would undergo the questioning are Gustinus Bayuaji (operations manager), Bambang Narayana (sales retail manager), Muhamad Sujai (marketing), and Nuniek Hendarti (billing and customer administration).

The Attorney General`s Office has so far named IA (the company`s top official) as a suspect in the graft case.

Earlier, the office said the number of suspects in the graft case might increase.

As a telecommunication service operator, IM2 has been accused of abusing mobile cellular networks of frequency 3G without prior consent from the government.

IM2 has never taken part in the tender for the procurement of IM2-2000 mobile cellular network at the frequency band 2.1 GHz but it operated the network through cooperation between PT IM2 and state telecommunication operator Indosat Tbk.

If found guilty, those involved in the case could be punished under article 2 and article 3 of the anti-corruption law.(*)
