The increase in revenues raised the company`s profit to Rp655 billion last year, PT Angkasa Pura I President Director Tommy Soetomo said during the commemoration of the company`s anniversary here on Sunday.
Also last year the company invested an estimated Rp6 trillion among others in the development of four airports, including expansion of Ngurah Rai Airport in Denpasar, Bali, and development of terminal II of Juanda Airport in Surabaya, East Java, he said.
PT Angkasa Pura I and PT Angkasa Pura II oversee 13 and 12 airports respectively. Based on Indonesia National Carrier Association (INACA) data, currently Indonesia has 210 airports.
Tommy said the airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura I recorded an average 14 percent increase in the number of passengers over the past five years.
Angkasa Pura I Corporate Secretary Miduk Situmorang said the number of passengers at Juanda Airport increased to 13.8 million, Ngurah Rai Airport to 12.7 million and Sultan Hasanuddin Airport to 7.4 million.
In terms of percentage, Adisumarmo Airport in Solo, Central Java, recorded the highest increase in the number of passengers which reached 22.69 percent, followed by Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang, Central Java, 19.74 percent and Selaparang Airport in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara, 16.25 percent, he said.
Compared to 2010, the income and profit before tax in 2011 respectively increased 23.37 percent and 17.06 percent year-on-year, he said.
