Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State enterprises minister Dahlan Iskan has appointed Sukrisno as the president director of the state-run tin producer PT Timah.

Sukrisno, the former president director of PT Bukit Asam Tbk replaced Wachid Usman, Dahlan Iskan said here on Wednesday, adding that Wachid Usman was replaced due to his reaching retirement age.

According to the minister, Sukrisno will be installed next week after the company`s board of directors is constituted.

Revamping the state-run companies will also occur if their president directors fail to improve the firms, he said.

"Of course the government hopes the state enterprises can grow as the `dream team`," the minister said

The board of directors should be solid and have the capability to develop their companies and if need be, they should be replaced, Dahlan said.

The state enterprises minister also indicated the need to replace the board of directors of PT Garuda Indonesia Airways and telecommunication company PT Telkom Tbk.

Meanwhile, Ferrari Romawi, a House Commission VI member, on Tuesday urged State Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan to replace the board of directors of the state-run shipping company PT Pelni.

"Minister Dahlan Iskan should immediately revamp PT Pelni`s board of directors, because the company continues to incur losses, although the government has been injecting funds," the legislator said.

Dahlan Iskan was president director of the state run power company PT PLN before being appointed as the state run enterprises minister. He was also one of the nation`s press barons.
