"The programme is in line with the government`s plan to control subsidized gasoline consumption."
Jakarta (ANTARA News) - State oil and gas company PT Pertamina will build filling stations that will sell only non-subsidized gasoline in elite areas such as Pondok Indah, South Jakarta.

Such filling stations are expected to support the government`s plan to limit the consumption of subsidized gasoline, said Hanung Budya, Marketing and Commerce Director of Pertamina, here on Friday.

Pertamina will also build these filling stations in elite areas in Tangerang, Bekasi, and Cikarang.

"The programme is in line with the government`s plan to control subsidized gasoline consumption," Hanung said.

The new filling stations will only sell non-subsidized gasoline Pertamax and Pertamax Plus, along with diesel Pertamina dex.

The policy will apply to official cars all over Indonesia from May 2012.

It will also apply to private cars with an engine capacity of above 1,500 cc in and around Jakarta 60 days later or in August 2012, and to Java and Bali 90 days later or in September 2012.

The government will, however, familiarize the public with the new policy for seven days before it is implemented.
