Corporate Secretary of TINS Agung Nugroho said the decline in profit was in line with the decline in the consolidated income of Rp4.13 trillion, compared to Rp4.83 billion in the same period last year.
"The company`s income was 15 pct lower than that in the corresponding period last year with Rp4.83 trillion," he said in Jakarta Monday.
In the meantime the gross profit and profit of the current semester of I-2012 amounted to Rp790 billion and Rp 336 billion, a decline compared to the first semester of 2011 respectively with Rp1.25 trillion and Rp688.99 billion.
Agung added that in the first six months of 2012 the price of the company`s shares fluctuated reaching the highest point at the price of Rp2,025 per share, and the lowest at Rp1,240 per share.
"On June 30, 2012 the price was closed at Rp1,380 per share compared to the opening price on January 2, 2012 with Rp1,680 per share," he said.
While the volume of the company`s tin ore up to the first semester of 2012 amounted to 16,839 metric tons, a drop from the same period of a year earlier with 17,701 metric tons.
"Tin production up to the end of June 2012 is 14,984 metric tons, 19 pct lower than the production of the metal in the first semester of 2011 with 18,455 metric tons," he said.
The sales price of tin received by the company in the first semester of 2012 amounted to 22,565 US dollars per metric ton, 24 pct lower than the price in the same period of last year with 29,541 US dollars per metric ton.
The top price of tin in the first semester of 2012 amounted to 25,650 US dollars per metric ton, and the lowest 18,375 US dollars per metric ton at an average price of 21,791 US dollars per metric ton, 25 pct lower than in the same period of last year with 29,337 US dollars per metric ton.
